Last week, Anthony, our passionate representative from Moi by Mademoiselle Desserts, made a special appearance on the Food Rebels podcast. Known for its insightful conversations with food industry innovators, this podcast was the perfect stage for Anthony to share our journey and passion for introducing French Mini Beignets to the UK. Fun fact: It’s pronounced “ben-yay”—not “benny’s” as the host initially guessed!

During the lively discussion, Anthony delved into the roots of our brand, explaining how Moi by Mademoiselle Desserts was born from a love of authentic French pastry traditions. He shared how our mission is to offer UK consumers a taste of true French indulgence, starting with our signature beignets. These delicate, golden pastries are crafted using quality ingredients and traditional techniques, setting them apart from standard doughnuts.
What Makes a Beignet Special?
One of the podcast’s highlights was Anthony’s explanation of what makes beignets so unique—and arguably better than doughnuts. He described their light, airy texture, achieved through precise dough preparation and frying techniques. “The ingredients make all the difference,” Anthony said. “With a higher egg content, fresh butter, and yeast, a beignet is crafted with care, unlike the typical donut.” He also spotlighted the generous fillings and the variety of flavours we offer, including Hazelnut & Cocoa, Apple, Speculoos, and Red Fruits.

Anthony also shared stories from our recent success at Pub in the Park, Marlow, where our beignets received rave reviews. He recalled the joy of seeing attendees’ faces light up after their first bite, cementing our belief that bringing these French delights to festivals is the perfect way to connect with customers.
